WD Ranch
Rocky Mountain scenery out your window and a trout
filled creek out your door. The WD Ranch is located near Melville,
a well established ranching community still inhabited by many of it
founding families. Originally settled five generations ago by Wm H.
Donald in 1910, the WD currently has three generations of the family
working on the ranch.
Today the WD runs 1000 head of cattle on 25,000 acres. Son Bill, and
his wife Betsy, manage the cattle operation and their children operate
leased and off-site ranches which expand the cattle operation.
Daughter Elli and husband Paul Hawks tend to the home ranch, having
restored the ranch buildings, they and their children make guests feel
right at home. They invite you to experience the unique heritage of
stewarding this beautiful land over many generations and to join them
for seasonal ranch activities.
